Fine Art & Dance Installation with Marita Sanguinetti
We begin not by warming up, but by arriving. 30 minutes of self-regulation — settling the nervous system so the body feels safe enough to listen. A technique of resting within the dance and life itself, to rekindle our innate vitality, sensuality, creativity, affectivity and transcendence.
Then we enter the installation. With a simple sheet of material and our breath, we explore a transformation I first worked with in my film Army Dreamers: from the click of a gun to the soft whoosh of a magic wand.
Say something that can only be told in dance. An ineffable story that you can only tell in this lived moment.
Simone Weil wrote, 'Gravity is the root of Grace'. For me this is the most evocative image for dance.
Centre, lightness, weight and a desired aesthetic vision and goal — that is what has to be fully present.
Knowing how to put your feet apart in an open plié with integrity is the key to dance and life itself.
Open to all bodies. Professional dancers and non-dancers together. No experience needed.
Curiosity is where everything begins. It is the key that helps us to open new doors, challenge familiar habits, and discover possibilities we didn't know existed.
